For some, photography is purely documentary. It is a 'true' visual record of a time and place, a person or thing. For others, the raw capture is just a starting point, and the finished image need not be true to what the camera or the photographer literally saw at all.
I'm new to photography, and a self-taught amateur at Photoshop. I aspire to master the tools and technology, to nurture my creativity, and to develop my own voice as an image maker; whether I am being 'true' in a literal sense to what the camera documents, or taking artistic license and stretching the raw image into something more magical. I hope I can one day live up to those aspirations. In the meantime, welcome to my journey.
